Day 17: Favorite quote from your favorite book
"It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
This isn't my favorite book, but it's my favorite quote. I read this book for the first time about a year ago, and I still get chills thinking about this line. Of all the books I've read over the years, this sentence has haunted me.
I'd heard the line before, of course, but I had no context in which to put it until I'd actually read the book. Once I did, I was completely blown away. It took me a day or two before I could even pick up another book; I had to reread that last chapter several times.
Even now, a year removed, that line takes my breath away.
